Coral Rush : Makeup Tutorial

A quick, easy and simple tutorial by Shreya!

1. Start off by applying a white cream base to your eye (NYX jumbo pencil in milk)

2. Next apply a skin tone eyeshadow all over your eye from lid to browbone (Victoria Jackson eyeshadow in peach)

3. Next apply a coral eyeshadow in crease and outer”v” and blend.Coral suits almost all skin tones (Coral by glameyez)

4. Next apply a slightle darker brown shade in the crease area to define it (Victoria Jackson eyeshadow in browning version)

5. Line your waterline with black kajal (Maybelline colossal kajal)

6. To glitz up the fairly simple look dust a little bit of sparkling white colour all over your eye (glacier by dawn eyes cosmetics)

7. Line your upperlashline with liquid liner,stay close to the lashline

8. Wing it out slightly
(Avon liquid liner)

9. Apply 2 coats of mascara on upper and lower lashes (Maybelline hyper curl mascara)

10. Use a concealer on your under eye area to conceal dark circles (garnier anti dark circle roll on in medium)

..and youre done.

My take : Team it with a coral /pink lipstick and bronzed cheek bones!

I went to a reception party last night and had a really good time.

Thought I'd share the outfit with you guys :)

For makeup, I kept it simple with black brown smokey eye and Mango mania on lips with a peachy blush!

DIY- Glitter polish :)

I have been on a lookout for a chunky glitter nailposh ever since I can remember, sadly I didn’t find any. No I did not want to spend whopping 500 bucks on just a nail polish and I DON’T order from international websites hence I had no option but to make my own. YUP!

So You’d be surprised how easy it is to get some chunky glitter on your nails. It looks gorrrrJUS! ..also be prepared to see a gazillion pictures in this post hehe. Well what else do you expect from a glitter-obsessed-freak?

Things you need :

Eyelash glue

Clear polish (Top Coat)

Nail paint remover

Q-tip

Paper(to create the mess on)

Last but definitely not the least, Lose glitter (You can find this at craft stores, random beauty shops, pretty much anywhere)

1. Use polish underneath if you feel like, I have used a red. (You can also skip this)

2. Don’t do it on all your nails, choose one. I chose my ring finger’s nail.

3. Put a tiny drop of glue onto your nail and spread it nicely. Wait till it turns tacky.

4. Put some glitter on a paper and dip your finger in. (You can cover the sides of your nail to avoid mess but I was too excited to try it out, hence I didn’t tape)

5. Look at it, so vivid *do a happy dance* Clean up sides if you haven’t taped it. I used a Q-tip and a nail paint remover.

6. Let it set for a bit, say 40-50 seconds.

7. Top it off with a clear polish/top coat & voila youre DONE!

NO IM NOT ENGAGED! :) The rings are gifted by my dad on my 20th birthday (Solitaire) and the other one, I got it during my sister's wedding, KALICHDI (as we call it)! A kalichdi is supposed to be a ring gifted by sister's husband to his sister in law(thats me) :)

ELF Candid Coral Blush : Review

Since I have already shared the ELF excitement story with you, lets get into the review straight-away this time.

I have heard the best thing about this particular colour Candid Coral, its supposed to be the closest dupe of the NARS “Orgasm” and I have been wanting it forever. The only difference is the price, where Orgasm costs a bomb, ELF is lot cheaper.

The packaging is exactly like NARS which is quite attractive, black case with a tiny inbuilt mirror. No brush, though. Also a peek through plastic on the top.

Candid coral is a beauty peachy-pink colour with very fine gold shimmer. Even though it has shimmer, it still is wearable in the daytime. It gives an instant shine and glam to the cheeks and looks lovely on almost every skintone. I made my mother try it, she's slightly duskier than I am. It actually comes out the best on medium to dark skin tones.

Even though, the colour is decently pigment but the camera hasnt picked up the exact colour. I clicked a lot of pictures but just didnt come out right.

The first time I tried it, I had to use it with a very heavy hand and it still didnt look nice and I was so pissed but the second time I used it with my Vega Prof Blush Brush, it picked the product nicely and it showed up a lot better on the cheeks. Earlier I used thee ELF Face brush.

It stays on for good 2-3 hours, after that you might need a touch but since it is really handy and the size is perfect to fit in the smallest of clutch/bag.

The texture is smooth, i did experience some fall out but I can totally ignore that for the other good things.

This blush now has become a staple in my makeup routine and I wear it whenever I go out.

Price : 3 USD or 150 INR(approx)

WHY BUY? : Buy it if you like peachy pink blushes and like to pay for what you get. Very budget-friendly and decent pigmentation.

E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen : Review

I couldn’t have been happier when I reveived these E.L.F products (haul here) a while back, sent by my cousin who lives in the US(Yes, God bless the cousins in the US). I couldn’t make up my mind which product to start from ! (Happy much?) Yes I was that excited. I had been longing for ELF since forever now, specially after raves in the blogsphere and also YOUTUBERS.

So I decided to start with the basic tool,i.e, the eyeliner. I am a huge fan of jet black eyeliners and hardly use any other colors. I received a pencil eyeliner/kohl, sketch pen eyeliner and a liquid liner. Being a sketch pen eyeliner lover, I picked it first. I wanted to make sure I start using them at regular intervals so that I can compare them better(post on this after all three are reviewed).

ELF Waterproof Eyeliner pen comes in a sketch pen form with sturdy plastic body and a cap that is too tight to handle. Trust me when I say this, the cap is extremely hard to open. Its so tight that I almost damaged the tip of the eyeliner.

Talking of eyeliner, its jet black in color and is decently pigmented. The first time I wore it, I didn’t use more than two swipes and after an hour or so I noticed that the eyeliner from the inner corner of my upper lashline had almost disappeared and that left me disappointed. I thought of giving it another chance and I used it for 5-6 times with 3-4 swipes. It definitely looked better.

But the main concern is that this eyeliner starts to crack and look uneven after atleast 1.5 hours of application, hence you might have to carry it around for touch ups.

The texture is smooth, the tip is thin and helps in drawing very precise lines. I usually end up using this just to make wings in the outer corners.

Its not the best product but at $ 1, I didnt expect much either.

Price : $ 1 or INR 51.

Why Buy? : You can totally skip this product if youre not an eyeliner junkie. Incase youre, just grab it for the money.

I'm extremely sorry for lagging posts but I assure you I'd be doing these more frequently.

This post is dedicated to the lovely Sonakshi Sinha. We all have heard of how she was over-weight and not really attractive prior to joining the B-town. I thought of compiling some pictures to make the transformation prominent. (Like it was needed? :P) No blah blah, enjoy the pictures :)
